Fleet Air Arm Tartan scarf - 100% pure wool. Perfect for cold weather and as a gift.
The term Fleet Air Arm came into being in 1924, however as early as 1903 the Admiralty was investigating kites and balloons for spotting. The first Naval Aviator completed his flying training in 1910 and the first launch from a Royal Navy battleship was achieved by January of 1912. From those early formative years of Naval Aviation to current operations, FAA personnel and aircraft have played a leading role, both during hostilities and peacetime, flying from ships deployed worldwide.
The Fleet Air Arm Tartan is the only Officially Registered Tartan in the world, to celebrate the Fleet Air Arm.
This unique scarf is worn with pride in the UK and worldwide, by former, current and future Fleet Air Arm personnel and their family, friends and supporters. The spirit of the Fleet Air Arm has been carefully woven into the unique pattern, by incorporating these significant colours:-
